How to Refund a Credit Card After 30 days

If you need to refund a credit card, and it's past 30 days the shopping cart does not store that info.

So you will want to select 'refund' in the order details so the shopping cart database is up to date on the refund.  But you will need to process it in your gateway.

Here are the steps if you are using Authorize.net (note that you can process refunds in authorize.net up to 120 days)

1) Go to Virtual Terminal

2) Select Refund

3) Fill Out the Form on that page

(you have their information in the order details)

4) You will then get a Transaction confirmation

5) Verify in the 'Unsettled Transactions' that this has been accomplished

6) Make notes inside the customer record in the shopping cart that you refunded the customer (optional)

Voiding Commissions on Recurring Orders

Let's say you have a customer that accidentally purchases your recurring order product through their own affiliate link.

And that was not allowed with our affiliate program.  You would need to void the commission on the initial order, for it to take effect on all other recurring orders.

otherwise, that recurring order will always show up as being associated with the affiliate.

so remember, to void out the first initial order, if you want the commissions to be voided out on all subsequent orders.

How Do I Go Back and Find HTML for a Form Later?

Question: Winnie asks - Once I have an autoresponder created, how can I go back into the shopping cart to find the html to paste into a website if I didn't do this right away?

Answer: If you didn't save the HMTL code, you can create a new form by going to: Email & Marketing - Custom Forms - Create Forms.

Choose the fields that you want to be visible or required on your form, then click Next Step.

In the Thank You URL field, enter the web page where you want the person to go after they submit the form, or leave the default URL in that field. Use the drop down list to select the autoresponder you want linked to the form.

Then select whether or not you want to receive an email message with information when the form is submitted.

Then click Create Form and you'll be able to select and copy your code on the next page.
